Meet Cookie Cart’s Rising Stars! Each month, outstanding youth employees are nominated by their peers and managers in recognition of their hard work, initiative, and willingness to help others.

Rising Star - Quinn

Quinn

Quinn’s “what’s next?” attitude has earned him the title of Rising Star this month. He is a great listener and an example for new members of the Cookie Cart cohort. He says his favorite part about coming to work at Cookie Cart is hanging out with all the friends he has made here. Cookie Cart has taught Quinn how to stay focused and manage stress, skills he said he has learned not only in the classroom, but by working in the bakery and through the help of his peers and mentors here.

Quinn attends Patrick Henry High School and is starting his sophomore year. He is interested in biology but also is interested in pursuing a career as a chef. He said his favorite food to cook is pasta, but really cooking anything is fun!

Quinn’s advice for his peers and anyone new to Cookie Cart is to “always try to be productive, but to remember that it’s ok to have fun in the process!”

Rising Star - Lah

Lah

Lah has been recognized as this month’s Rising Star for her leadership skills and consistently strong work ethic. She says her favorite thing about working at Cookie Cart is her amazing coworkers and how much fun they all have together during a shift. Cookie Cart has taught Lah valuable organizational skills and how to be a part of a team.

Lah is starting her junior year at Humboldt High School and is taking classes through PSEO this year. She is interested in pursuing a career in nursing and hopes to be able to combine that with her passion for traveling. She says while flying is fun, she prefers a good old fashion road trip, and that her favorite trip was her family’s vacation to the Wisconsin Dells.

Lah’s advice to her peers is to “not be afraid to speak up and ask for help if you need it, everyone at Cookie Cart is really welcoming and nice and here for you.”
