Celebrating National Cookie Day

National Cookie Day gave us more than a reason to celebrate sweet treats—it gave us a powerful opportunity to share the heart of Cookie Cart’s mission with a broader community.

In honor of the day, our Executive Director, Jacquelyn Carpenter, joined Vineeta Sawkar on WCCO Radio’s MyTalk to talk about cookies, youth, and the impact that happens when a community invests in young people. What began as a conversation about baking quickly became something much bigger: a chance to spotlight how Cookie Cart empowers Twin Cities youth through meaningful employment, leadership development, and real-world skill building.

MyTalk proved to be one of the most powerful ways to spark new interest, support, and engagement for our mission. We are deeply grateful for the ripple effect it created—strengthening our collective community efforts and reinforcing a shared belief: it truly takes all of us investing in youth to build a brighter, more sustainable future where young people can thrive and lead.

National Cookie Day may come once a year, but the mission behind every Cookie Cart cookie is ongoing. Each batch baked supports young people as they learn, grow, and prepare for what’s next.

Thank you to Vineeta Sawkar, WCCO Radio, and everyone who continues to help spread the word. Your support fuels the work—and the future—we’re building together.
